Experience
I've tutored writing and composition at the University of California, Santa Barbara for six years. As a writing tutor, I've helped students during every phase of writing in virtually every discipline. I'm trained to work "on the fly," as students regularly came to the writing lab with writing tasks varying from grant applications, cover letters, business memos, engineering reports, literature papers, persuasive essays, and more. I'm an instructor of freshman composition at UCSB as well. I've designed and taught five classes at the university, so I'm relatively well-versed in the current pedagogical literature. I've also served as a teaching assistant for several departments, including: History, Black Studies, and Ethics. I was responsible for holding office hours, leading discussion sections, and grading all classwork. Overall, my academic career has been short (I'm only 26!), but I pride myself in the versatility and adaptation skills I've developed so quickly.

I am a HUGE sports fan, and I've played guitar since I was 15 years old. I cherish being an historian and educator because I never stop learning. It also helps that I get paid to learn!
